Limited Edition Prints
The ultimate goal of my photography is to see each image in print. For that reason, I use a much larger camera than most photographers, which really brings the images to life when they’re enlarged. The internet/ Facebook/Instagram is nice for looking at pictures, but until an image is professionally printed so that you can see all the nuances in it, you’ll always be looking at a second-rate picture.
All my photographs are created to be printed on a large scale, sometimes as big as ninety-six inches (eight feet) wide. Standard prints come in sizes from 20 to 60 inches. I also make custom sizes- send me an email to discuss your needs. Photos are printed on heavyweight, museum-quality Hahnemühle fine art paper. Founded in 1584, Hahnemühle is considered to be the premier paper manufacturer in the world– their fine art rag paper is the best for printing photographs that you’ll find anywhere. I use their pure cotton rag paper that produces stunning results with outstanding reproduction of colors and details, deep blacks and perfect contrast. It is also acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance.
One final thing.... paper prints will need to be framed, so consider that extra cost before making your purchase. I don’t sell frames myself for two reasons… 1) they often don’t survive shipping and if the glass breaks, the print will almost always be scratched and ruined, and 2) I believe framing to be a very subjective choice. You need to choose a frame that will fit your home or office’s decor. I personally like simple black frames, with slightly off-white mats, but the best thing you can do is to take your print to a local framing store to get their input and expertise.
I’m not about quantity; I’m all about the quality. I don’t print hundreds of prints every year- usually just a few dozen or less. I limit the number of prints that will be made from each image so collectors know that the print they buy will be one of only a small, exclusive quantity made of that image. All prints in the 20-inch and larger sizes are limited editions only.
Limited Editions are printed in small quantities:
20-inch prints ................. edition of 25 total prints
30-inch prints ................. edition of 20 total prints
36-inch prints ................. edition of 15 total prints
40/45-inch prints ................. edition of 15 total prints
60-inch prints ................. edition of 10 total prints
Once each edition sells out, no more will be printed in that size. As the edition nears completion, the last five prints will increase in cost until the edition has sold out.
